I think the following is the best SiP news I have heard in a long time:

SiP 62 has been at the printers since before Christmas and is scheduled to ship January 7.

That's the news. The rest is for hard core fans only.

This issue and the next have a couple of violent scenes in them that are unpleasant, and, like some of you I'm sure, I look forward to leaving that aspect of the story behind when we return to Katchoo's current situation in SiP 64, which will be much more of a lighthearted satire of people and the art world. The grisly side of David's story has really drained the desire out of me for a violent edge to SiP. I changed the plotting on Katchoo and Sara's story to come while working on David's Story, because I looked at more intended crime DRAMA in the issues ahead and thought, "Enough already! Good grief, give me a break! When did this become a crime comic?"

So I sat down, erased the plotting I had laid out for SiP 64-66 and rewrote it in the old style: people, humor, and satire to vent my social anger instead of violence. I just felt so good after I did that, like I'd done something right for a change, I wanted to share it with you.

So let's finish David's Story the way it really happened and leave that behind us in the past, where it belongs and where David wants to leave it, too. It's a necessary piece of the puzzle, but a brighter day is just around the corner, I promise. This year of SiP is going to be like a state of the art version of the early SiP, loaded with romantic comedy in the world we live in. We're going to have fun and it's going to be a great year, so...
